I just sewed the batik into tube shape and attached it to the bodice part of the shirt. That's it. No rocket science involved, apparently. It's so comfy and if I want it to be more shapely I could always cinch a belt.

more dress refashion
Before my new muse came, I had done another refashion. This time I made a maxi dress from a cotton batik fabric and an old cotton jersey turtle neck shirt. The batik was a birthday present from a dear friend a couple of years ago. Yup, my fabric stash goes all the way back..

Actually I'm thinking of adding a batik rosette, just hope I'm in the mood to make it soon :D

Yay to another pretty refashioned dress! Looks great! Keep it up yeah!
lovely dress!
This is a good idea. I have some batik sarongs lying around. Only problem is they are always too short for me to wear.
PS My hubby is Malaysian.
